has eaten its way 77m into the mountain! After just a short climb of 40m you
get to the most impressive show of natural beauty in the region.
The
family Bozzoni opened the Cascane del Varone instead of their only slightly
profitable paper mill. Non more insignificant as that of the Arco originating
from the Architect Gian Carlo Maroni (1893-1952), who also built the Vittorale
in Gardone for Gabrielle d’Annunzio, and designed the entrance building. Famous
visitors include Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria, the Italian King Umberto II,
Friedrich Nietzsche and Thomas Mann.
